A single span, drawn to what actually gets checked on site: sag set against span and temperature, ground clearance measured at the lowest point of the conductor, the stay set taking the pull at the angle, and a pole earth at every distribution point.

The Work

An overhead line is the cheapest way to move power across open ground and the fastest to fault-find, which is why most industrial estates, farm feeders and plant extensions in South Gujarat still run overhead. What decides whether it stays up is not the conductor — it is the route survey, the foundation depth, the sag tension and the earthing.

We take the line end to end: walk the route and fix pole positions against ground clearance and crossings, cast foundations, erect PSC or steel poles, fit cross-arms, insulators and stay sets, string and sag the conductor, then earth, test and charge. HT and LT on the same run are handled together, so the crossarm arrangement, clearances and pole loading are worked out once rather than argued over between two contractors.

Why It Matters

Where This Work
Decides The Outcome

Clearance is a legal limit, not a preference

Ground, road and building clearances for HT and LT lines are fixed by the CEA safety regulations. A pole set 300 mm short is not a cosmetic problem — it fails inspection, blocks the connection and has to come out and go back in.

Sag decides the life of the span

Conductor strung too tight snaps in winter; strung loose it swings into trees and clashes in wind. Sag is set against span length and temperature at the time of stringing, which is why it is done with a chart and a dynamometer rather than by eye.

Foundations carry more than the pole

Every angle, dead-end and stay point carries the pull of the whole span. Under-cast foundations at those points are where overhead lines actually fail, usually in the first monsoon after commissioning.

Survey To Handover

Route survey

Walk the alignment, fix pole positions, record crossings, trees and existing services, and schedule the material against the profile.

Civil & erection

Excavate, cast, cure and erect. Angle, dead-end and stay locations are set out before any conductor is pulled.

Stringing & fitting

Insulators, cross-arms and hardware fitted, conductor pulled, sagged to chart and jumpered at every angle and section point.

04

Earthing & charging

Pole and guard earthing, lightning arrestors, insulation and continuity checks, then charging with the utility and handover.
