The trench is the job. Sand bedding under and over the cable, tile or brick protection above that, warning tape in the backfill and a marker at surface — every layer there to stop the next excavator, not to satisfy an inspector.

The Work

Underground is the answer where overhead is not allowed or not wanted: congested plant yards, road crossings, chemical and process areas, warehouse and commercial premises, and anywhere the aesthetic or the risk of contact rules a line out. It costs more to build and far more to repair, so the value sits almost entirely in how carefully it is laid and jointed the first time.

We handle the full run — trench profile and bedding, cable pulling with rollers and tension control, sand-brick-tile protection, route markers, and then the part that decides the life of the circuit: straight-through joints and terminations made in controlled conditions by jointers who do only that.

Where This Work
Decides The Outcome

A buried fault is expensive to find

An overhead fault is visible from the ground. An underground fault needs a fault locator, an excavator and a day, and it is almost always at a joint. Fewer, better joints is the single biggest thing that keeps a cable circuit running.

Bending radius and pulling tension are limits

XLPE damaged during the pull does not fail on the day — it fails months later after thermal cycling. Rollers, tension control and correct bending radius are what stop a circuit from being born with a fault in it.

The as-laid drawing prevents the next dig

Most underground cable damage is done by someone else’s excavator. Route markers and an accurate as-laid drawing handed over at commissioning are what keep the next civil contractor from cutting the feeder.

How We Execute

Survey To Handover

Route & schedule

Trench route fixed against existing services, crossings identified, cable drum lengths scheduled to minimise joints.

Trench & lay

Trench cut to profile, sand bedding placed, cable pulled on rollers under controlled tension, protection and backfill completed.

03

Joint & terminate

Straight-through joints and terminations made in clean conditions with compression connectors and heat- or cold-shrink kits.

04

Test & hand over

IR and continuity tested, phase sequence checked, circuit charged, and the as-laid drawing and cable schedule handed over.
